Description

The Chittenango Falls State Park boasts a 167-foot waterfall of the same name. This natural formation was created over the course of 400 million years, as glaciers slowly made their way over the region. Perhaps you are looking to take a hike. If so, there are three different trails to choose from.

All of the hiking trails within Chittenango Falls State Park provide some wonderful views of both the falls and the surrounding gorge. If you are looking to put an event together, Chittenango Falls State Park has you covered with two different pavilions; the Overlook and the Fairchild. The capacities of these venues vary, so make sure to phone ahead for full details.

While making your way down to the Chittenango Creek, make sure to set aside some time to enjoy the shoreline. Fishing is intensely popular here with locals covering the water every summer in either canoes or kayaks. No rental items are furnished for watersports, so make sure to come prepared.

Dogs are strictly forbidden from any indoor structures on park grounds but are permitted on the pavilions provided they stay on a leash at all times. Dogs are welcome in the waters or shoreline here, provided they stay on a leash. Swimming is neither offered nor permitted for humans in Chittenango Creek.

These hiking trails were renovated in the early 2000s and now provide water stations. Canines are permitted on these paths, provide they are leashed up throughout your journey. Make sure to bring extra plastic bags, and there are not a lot of dog amenities here.

In 2010, a large playground structure was built for kids inside of the park. Canines are not allowed on any of the equipment and must be leashed at all times. During the summertime, children's programming is offered in Chittenango Falls State Park. Full information on these offerings can be found inside of the park offices.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
