Located in Philadelphia’s Bella Vista neighborhood, Cianfrani Park is a beautiful, historic park with tons to offer pups and their owners! This small and scenic park is very pawpular with locals, and dogs are welcome to join you in the park on-leash.
When you walk into Cianfrani Park, one of the first things you’ll see is a historic plaque. This plaque provides information about the school that used to sit on Cianfrani Park’s grounds, Campbell Elementary School. This school was demolished in the 1960s, and soon afterward, the land was used to create Cianfrani Park.
The next thing you’ll see as you head into Cianfrani Park are the park’s beautiful gardens. These gardens are filled with local flowers and plants, and they’re maintained by the Friends of Cianfrani Park. In 2012, the park’s gardens won first prize in the prestigious Pennsylvania Horticultural Society City Gardens Contest. As you and your pup are walking along Cianfrani Park’s paved pathways, you’ll get great views of these lovely, prizewinning gardens. There are also plenty of benches where you can both relax and enjoy views of the flowers.
Cianfrani Park also has a green space where your dog can roll around, run, and play to their heart’s content. Many locals also enjoy going for picnics on this green space. Plus, Cianfrani Park hosts lots of community events throughout the year. This includes concerts in the summer, festivals in the spring and fall, and a holiday tree lighting ceremony in December. There’s always something fun going on in Cianfrani Park! Remember to bring some doggy bags with you so you can clean up after your dog while you’re in the park, and water to share.
Have a great day out with your pup at this furrific park that’s home to picturesque gardens and lots of great community activities!
