Recent reports mention that a portion of the area now contains some fencing, but dogs who lack a secure recall should remain on a lead for their own safety. Additionally, dogs must be leashed in all other public spaces.
There are no on-site amenities provided. Owners must bring drinking water and poop bags with them to the park. Claflin Playground Off-Leash Area expects all owners to clean up after their dogs and properly dispose of their waste materials. Claflin Playground Off-Leash Area is a private dog playground. A membership is required to access the grounds.
Membership dues are $50 annually for residents of Massachusetts and $100 for those residing elsewhere. At the time of registration, owners must also furnish a completed application form and proof of both a current rabies vaccination and a city dog license. Tags must be borne on all dogs' collars.
Once an application is approved, all members will receive a medallion which is to be displayed on a collar and permits entrance to the facility. Other attractions at this dog play haven include a fenced sledding hill, a bountiful level grass area, and soccer fields.
