Huntington Township pups rejoice! A pupperdise awaits in East Northport at the Huntington Dog Shelter! Here you can find the Huntington Township Dog Run, also called the East Northport Dog Run, right next door. This pawrific leash free play zone is just waiting for your dog!
This fenced dog run is free to enter and is available for use to Huntington Township residents only. They can apply for free dog park permits at the nearby Huntington Dog Shelter, which is located right past the dog park and into the second building. Visitors are given plenty of parking space at the dog run, just be sure to have a current NY driver’s license to get the permit.
This 24,000 square foot park is one big space set aside just for pup fun, so small dogs can cavort with big pups. Enter through one of two double-gated entries for optimum pup safety. Once inside the gates, the leash can come off for free wheeling play! The ground cover is mostly grass and dirt, making for a soft cover for paws. There's access to plenty of fresh running water at the far end of the property, and several waste bag stations are located here too. A shade pavilion and benches are available for owners to relax while watching their furry friends have a blast.
All dogs need to be licensed and up to date on their rabies shot to get a permit, and should always wear a collar and tags while in the run. Owners should pick up after their pups, and are limited to two dogs each while in the run.
An ideal place for residents and their beloved dogs, the East Northport Dog Run is a great way to spend a sunny afternoon or enjoy a relaxing walk at sunset.
