Community Park Dog Park

Looking for a small and low key dog park where Spot can let loose? Then head out to the Community Park Dog Park in Davis, California. This small dog park offers a basic off-leash area for Spot’s play. After Spot gets in his doggy play, you can visit the skate park, playground, and sports fields within the surrounding Community Park. You two can also take a stroll on the walking, biking, and skate paths. 

The park’s most crowded time is 7-9 AM. During other times, you might find you and Spot to be the only ones around. Past visitors explain that this park is often underused. Some tidbits to know before you go are that the park gets quite muddy in the spring. And there is no water within the park, but there are fountains nearby at the restroom.

You will appreciate the shade in this park due to the numerous trees. And the view is nice of the wide-open field and sky above. Spot will play with dogs of all sizes because this cozy dog park does not have a separate space for small and large dogs.

He will also enjoy running freely and rolling around in this fenced-in grassy area. Since this park is on the smaller side, it is easier to keep your eye on Spot, and people tend to pick up their dog's poop when they know they are being watched.

This park does hold the annual two-mile SPCA walkathon which is a huge fundraising event held each summer where you can meet many other canines and owners. It is also a great way to show your support for abused animals. Note that Spot needs a current license to enter the park, and owners must scoop the poop.
