Description

The Davie Dog Park is a public dog park located in the William R. Davie Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition to the spacious dog park, the 106-acre district park is home to two soccer fields, volleyball courts, a one-acre lake, indoor and outdoor shelters and several playgrounds. There are also public restrooms within the park as well as various nature trails.

This dog park is considered to be a hidden gem that can be difficult to find at first. However, it can be reached by heading down a path in the direction of the woods or by taking the path left of the basketball courts. Whichever you choose, feel free to ask the helpful patrons on the way for directions.

The five-acre Davie dog park has a well-thought-out layout that consists of two separate securely fenced and double gated off-leash areas. There is a small dog area for dogs under 20 pounds and a large dog area for hounds over 20 pounds. Unlike many other dog parks, both sections in the Davie Dog Park are huge and provide tons of space for leash-free exercise, exploration, and socialization.

Both areas are also equipped with free doggie waste bag dispensers and drinking fountains for both dogs and owners. There are also plenty of benches spread across the dog park and lots of shade for cooling off which creates a perfect setting for watching pooches play and making sure they are well-behaved. Though not directly by the dog park, there are public restrooms in the William R. Davie Park.

If you are looking for a well-equipped dog park with friendly and welcoming regulars - this  is the place for you! This dog park is always busy on the weekends which ensures that your four-legged buddy will always have someone to chase and play with. Just don’t forget to bring a towel for your dog’s paws as playtime can get muddy, especially after rainfall.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.

Friendly dogs and dog owners. My pitbull was shy at first around other dogs, period. This dog park helped her socialize with dogs her size and bigger. Love it!
