Shuffletown Dog Park
To meet the needs of small, shy, and senior dogs, there is an additional enclosure on the premises which is smaller in size. The park is maintained by Mecklenburg County. The vision of the management team is to provide a safe space where dogs can enjoy regular exercise, off-leash activity, and appropriate socialization opportunities.
Though both dog playgrounds were designed with off-leash play in mind, it is important that owners carry a leash with them. When not housed in the off-leash areas, all dogs are to remain on a lead. Shuffletown Dog Park is a public dog playground, and park officials are pleased to offer access to the property at no cost. At this time, there are no amenities provided on the grounds.
Owners should come prepared with all of the things they may need during their visit including bottled water, a dog dish, poop bags, and lawn chairs. The property at Shuffletown Park is comprised of rolling terrain that is partially wooded. Also found on the premises is a walking path, two volleyball courts, two baseball fields, a multi-purpose soccer field, a playground, and bathrooms.
Visitors to Shuffletown Park praise its serene setting, natural landscape, and tranquil atmosphere that is conducive to relaxation and reflection. Though there are no officially posted rules regarding the use of Shuffletown Dog Park, it is wise for all dogs to be current on vaccinations. A city dog license is also suggested.
