Dixon Springs State Park is one of the fabulous state parks that sits in the Shawnee Hills of the Illinois area. This park is known for its wildlife and plant life that sits along the trails. This park also sits on a large rock as this large rock dropped 200 feet, expanding the Pope county long ago. 

During your visit to Dixon Springs State Park, you will find many different amenities that are available for your enjoyment. The Dixon Springs State Park has hiking trails, a swimming pool, a concession stand, picnic tables, picnic shelters, and campgrounds that are available for you and your family to enjoy.

You will also find open availability for hiking, wildlife watching, bird watching, and so much more. Dogs are also allowed to come to this state park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire park stay. When you visit this state park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Dixon Springs State Park.

Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to this park as they do not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here.
