Duck Farm Dog Park is nestled within Lake Villa, Illinois. One of four area dog parks housed in the Lake County Forest Preserves, Duck Farm Dog Park is pleased to offer 48 acres of pristine, natural landscape for dogs to freely explore. Though some reviews do report there is a fenced section on the property, it is unclear if this is the case.
Dogs are welcome to enjoy Duck Farm Dog Park's grounds without the need for a leash. However, if your dog lacks a sufficient recall, it may be best to keep him leashed for his own safety. Additionally, owners must have a lead with them at all times. It is unknown if there is any area designated for use by small, senior, or shy dogs, but given the likelihood that the property may not be fenced, it is safe to assume that there is not one housed on the grounds at this time.
Duck Farm Dog Park is a private dog play haven. To enter the grounds, owners must purchase a permit. Permits are available on a daily or yearly basis. A day pass is $10 per dog for all Lake County residents and $20 for those residing elsewhere. A yearly permit can be purchased at the cost of $50 for the first dog and $20 each subsequent (up to three) for those residing in Lake County and $150 for the first dog and $75 each additional dog (up to three) for non-residents.
Discounts are available on passes purchased from September through December. At the time of application, owners must provide proof of a valid rabies vaccination. This is evidenced via a current tag which includes the vaccine's expiry date. It is also mandatory for all license plates to be registered.
Registration can be done online or at a self-pay station located in the parking lots of all four Lake County Forest Preserve dog parks. Among the amenities included at Duck Farm Dog Park are open grass fields, trails, water access, fountains, and bathrooms. It is unknown if poop bags are provided. Owners should bring some from home with them in case the park is in short supply.
Dogs are welcome to engage in the following activities on the grounds: swimming, off-leash exercise, retrieving, tracking, pointing, and obedience training. Duck Farm Dog Park strictly prohibits alcohol, food, toys, and rawhides from the premises. Could Fido benefit from a day of fun? Bring him and the family to visit Duck Farm Dog Park!
