Dyker Beach Dog Park

This public park features a large alley of mature trees and smaller areas with plantings, creating a more relaxed and familiar atmosphere for pets and owners alike. The secure entrance can be found near the corner of 7th Avenue and 86th Street, which is also a popular place for dogs to play off leash. Although most of the animals are usually on the grassy dog run, they are also allowed to visit the rest of the park as long as they have their leash on.

There are no fees required to enter the property, however, all dogs need to have license and rabies tags in order to join. Canine lovers can visit the park from sunrise until 9 am and again, from 9 pm to 1 am, provided the dogs are leashed during the 9am-9pm interval. The park includes two separate areas for large and small dogs, while owners can exercise their furry companions off-leash at Cropsey Avenue, Bay 8th Street, and Poly Place.

Restrooms are available throughout the property, as well as special areas for athletes and families, including a golf center for the local youth league, a water fountain, and seating options. Everyone must pick up after their dog and dispose of the waste in the park containers. These are conveniently distributed throughout the area so owners won’t have to spend time searching for them. It’s also important to make sure dogs don’t chase birds, squirrels or other animals found in the park.
