Eagle Creek State Park

The Eagle Creek State Park welcomes humans and their dogs to explore their 2,200 acre natural woofderland, just 4 miles from Findlay. From indigenous woodlands to miles of shorelines on Lake Shelbyville, there's enough outdoor adventures here to satisfy every pup!

Got a hiker on your hands? This furbulous park offers 3 marked trails that meander through the forest. Serious walkers can tackle the 12 mile Illini Trail. You may even spot one of the resident deer herds on your journey. A cross country skiing trail is also available in the winter. Catch a rest or a meal at one of the picnic areas with grills, water and restrooms. You can refill your water bottles here for your trek through this wilderness. There's also playgrounds if you have little two leggeds in tow too.

For the water lovers, the park features 250 miles of shoreline. A boat ramp is pawfect for setting out on your boat for a day on the lake. Two marinas offer boating and fishing supplies if you furgot something. Coast on the lake and admire the miles of timber and rock shorelines, and tributary streams. Cast a line on the lake or from the shore to try your hand at catching crappie, largemouth bass, bluegill and sunfish.

Need more than an afternoon? Many camping options are available to extend your stay, and range from full sites with electricity and showers, to primitive tent sites. Other pawsome activities that are pupular here are horseback riding, water skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure your dog is leashed throughout the park at all times. Always have water on hand to share, and clean-up bags, and pick up whatever your pup leaves behind.
