Eldon HazletState Park

Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area is a fantastic location for you and your pooch to go camping! This park has tons of space for you to enjoy. There are over 300 campsites, a 26,000-acre lake, and the site itself is over 3,000 acres located along Carlyle Lake. In addition to camping, the park includes boating, hiking, fishing and hunting, bird watching, and picnicking. 

Have fun with your furry friend at Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area and pick a dog-friendly campsite. Many campsites are equipped with electricity and there are ADA Accessible campsites. There are also cabins for rent, but dogs and pets are not allowed to use them. 

The showers are centrally located on the campgrounds, as well as basketball courts, playgrounds, water fill stations, and dump stations. There is also a swimming pool located next to the camp store. Wherever you explore, make sure your dog is never left unattended. 

Your pup cannot be aggressive and Fluffy must always be on a leash. The official brochure states animal control may be called if you and your dog do not abide by these rules. At the campground, discourage your pooch from barking and keep him quiet during quiet hours, which are 10 PM to 7 AM. 

If you and your cute canine are up for a hike, consider the Cherokee Trail Loop. It's two miles and passes by a lake. The trail is three loops and is in the woods, so you might see wildlife like deer. Make sure your pup is on the leash while you're hiking at Eldon Hazlet State Recreation Area.

The terrain is said to be easy to hike. Whenever you're out and about with your four-legged friend Fluffy, be sure to take enough water for the two of you. Don't forget to pack plastic bags to clean up after your furry friend. You don't want to leave any trace that either of you was there.
