Canine citizens of Arlington are lucky to have this woofderful park in their community. Treat your pal to an afternoon at Fort Barnard Dog Park, and you will see their tail wag nonstop! It’s located right across the street from Fort Barnard Park, and is just calling your dog’s name!
Your furry friend will be delighted at the chance to
leave their leash behind and run around with reckless abandon. They can check
out all the new smells this park has to offer, weave in and out of the trees,
or play a game of fetch. Plus, they have the chance to make new four legged
friends. Socialization is a huge benefit of taking your pup to a dog park. And
since this is a pupular location, your pooch will always have a buddy to play
with.
This decent sized doggy play zone is covered in a
combination of mulch and wood chips and it only has a couple small patches of
grass. This means that after a rainstorm, the field is pretty muddy. If you and
your pup drove to the park, it’s a good idea to have a towel on hand to wipe
their feet. Otherwise, your car will be covered in an array of dirty paw prints!
Fort Barnard Dog Park has benches and a couple picnic
tables for pet parents. It also has drinking fountains and water spigots for
dogs. One the best things about this park is that the lights stay on until 9:00
p.m. So if you come home late from work, there is still plenty of time to take
your pup out for some off leash fun. When visiting the park, be sure to bring clean up bags and pick up any doggy debris that your pup leaves behind.
Make no mistake, your pup will pawsitively love this park!
