Vienna Dog Park (at Moorefield Park) is a small public dog park located in Fairfax County, Virginia. It has a simple, square layout, and several benches within the off-leash area. It is enclosed with a 5-foot high fence and double gates for safe entry and exit. Though it only has one area for dogs to roam freely in, usually occupied by medium to large dogs, it does also have agility equipment.Â
A few obstacles such as hurdles, a hoop, and a ramp keep things interesting in this relatively flat park. Since it is usually quiet during the weekdays, it is a great place to organize doggy play dates and socialize your puppy, as long as he is above the age of 4 months. The park does get very crowded on the weekends and parking can be tricky.Â
This cozy park is surrounded by lush greenery and has a few walking trails nearby, making it the perfect destination for a day with your dog. The dog park provides plenty of shade and seating for its patrons and their four-legged companions. It also has motion-detecting lights throughout the park for better visibility in the evenings.Â
A pooper scooper and poop bags are also provided in case you forgot to bring your own and the park-goers make an excellent effort to keep this park clean and waste-free. There is also a water fountain for both owners and their dogs to enjoy and a large water bucket that is always filled.
The surface mainly consists of gravel and some dirt, so playtime can get dirty quite fast, especially on the rainier days or if your pooch decides to hop in the wading pool. Make sure to bring a towel you can use to wipe off any mud before your dog hops into the car to ride back home after spending a great day at this conveniently located dog park.Â
