Situated along the west shoreline of the Fox River, the 67-acre preserve is home to one of the approved off-leash dog areas in the county. You'll find the off-leash area on the side with the parking lot, north of Red Gate Road. Your best friend will surely have a barking good time darting among the trees and sniffing around in the open fields without the constraint of a leash! Fox River Bluff West offers over 2 miles of wooded trails for you and your pooch to tackle, as well as access to the river where your pup can cool off. Don't forget to bring a toy to throw into the water and a towel for drying off!
The preserve is pawpular among local canines and their humans, so expect to meet some friendly faces while you're there! You may also encounter cyclists and pedestrians traversing the preserve to get to the bike trail on the other side of the river. Note that the site is not fenced, so always keep a close eye on your pupper, especially in the areas near the highway and the water. Use a leash when you and Fido are crossing the bridge over the Fox River, and make sure your doggo is wearing their current rabies vaccination tag at all times.
Remember to bring your own doggie waste bags and drinking water as these are not provided on-site.
