The Fredericksburg Dog Park is a private facility open only to owners and their dogs who reside within Fredericksburg city limits and is free of charge. This dedicated dog space is accessible to area dogs four months of age or older. Proof of the required city license is required prior to entrance to the park. Water is provided on-site which is suitable to help keep Fido hydrated during his play time. It is unknown if bathroom facilities for use by park visitors are available on the premises.
Dogs making use of this space must be current on all vaccinations including rabies. Park officials impose a maximum limit of 15 dogs allowed in the dog play space at one time. All dog owners bringing their dogs to the facility are required to carry the appropriate insurance to protect against liability.
Owners are required to be in plain view of their dogs at all times. Any children 10 years of age or younger are restricted to the pavilion area. Food of any kind is not permitted on the premises. While off-leash play is permitted at this park, dogs are to be on a lead when traveling to and from the enclosure. In addition to this, dogs in season and those displaying aggressive tendencies are strictly prohibited from the park.
It is unknown if complimentary poop bags are provided on-site. However, park regulations mandate that all owners carry bags with them and assist with preserving the play area's cleanliness by picking up and disposing of all canine waste materials promptly. This beloved dedicated dog facility observes seasonal hours. Open from 7 am until 8 pm in the summer, Fredericksburg Dog Park's hours are reduced from 8 pm at night until 6 pm during the winter months.
