In addition, since off-leash activity must be carefully monitored to ensure the safety of all dogs, owners must be present to provide active supervision and must also keep a lead handy. Though off-leash exercise is permitted in the dog runs, dogs are to remain leashed in all other areas of the family-friendly Freedom Park.
The Freedom Dog Park proudly offers entrance to their public dog playground at no cost. This dog play haven is new to the area and is described as cute and quaint by park visitors. The runs are complete with many amenities to enhance Fido's dog park experience. Included in the runs are water access, agility equipment, and poop bags.Â
The onus for all pet waste removal lies with each owner. Freedom Dog Park officials gratefully acknowledge all owner cooperation in assisting them with preserving a clean and attractive play space for all to enjoy. Also on the grounds is a dog wash station to help get Fido sparkling clean before heading for home. Bathrooms are housed at nearby Freedom Park and are accessible to the public.Â
Freedom Park itself is a family-centric recreational area with much to offer Fido and his family. Among the outdoor opportunities to enjoy are a baseball field, a small walking track, a hiking trail, a soccer field, a multi-purpose athletic field, and a disc golf course. Freedom Park is also the host of the annual regional Spring Olympics among other yearly sporting events.
There are no officially posted rules regarding the use of the Freedom Dog Park. However, current immunizations are an excellent idea, and a city dog license is recommended. Ready to check out a new Valdosta park? Take a trip to the Freedom Dog Park, and you will not be disappointed.
