When visitors get to the park, they will find lots of attractions that will awe them into loving the pristine terrain. For example, the park is home to the remaining rolling praise land that covered most of the state of Minnesota at one point in history. Additionally, the park is home to the 56-acre Mountain Lake and a network of trails that lead to prairie potholes, glacial formations, woodlands, marshes, and creeks.

Furthermore, the park has plenty of flora and fauna. Some of the plant species that can be found in the park include Indian Grass, Big Bluestem, Little Bluestem, Pasque Flowers, Coneflowers, Prairie Clover, Goldenrods, Wolfberry, and Rose Shrubs. Many animal species also reside in the park including several bird species as well as other animals like raccoons, squirrels, beavers, deer, coyotes and wood ducks.

Visitors to this protected land can also appreciate recreational activities like lake fishing, camping, boating (electric motors only), swimming, snowshoeing, hiking, canoeing, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and horseback riding. Amenities in the park include a boat ramp, boat and canoe/kayak rentals, many types of campsites, camper cabins, flush toilets,  several trails, a picnic area, a picnic shelter, volleyball court, playground, swimming beach, a fishing pier, and showers.

Dogs are allowed into Glacial Lakes State Park as long as they are always under the immediate care of the owner and are kept on a leash that is a maximum of six feet in length. Additionally, dogs should be kept away from beach areas and park buildings, including cabins, camper cabins, and lodging areas.

Enjoy a pawrific day of outdoor adventure with your pup at the Glacial Lakes State Park!
