If you want a one-of-a-kind dog park experience, then take Scruffy to the Glen Highland Farm. Located in upstate Morris, NY, this place offers a much different dog park experience because it’s more of a dog vacation. This doggy haven is made possible by a non-profit organization that runs an on-site Border Collie rescue and rehabilitation center. The rescue supports their charitable endeavors with their spectacular summer getaways for visitors from May 25th to September 30th.Â
During these months, visitors can take a doggy vacation and stay in a cottage, cabin, or RV on site. Then you can head out into the beautiful 175 acres of countryside and let Scruffy run free through the open meadows, wildflower fields, and mossy walkways.Â
Scruffy might even want to go for a swim in the river as you get out your fishing rod and head for the bank. This place overflows with amenities. You can take Scruffy to the agility course, grill over a special cooking fire, or relax with Scruffy in a hammock while you read about your next doggy adventure.Â
Scruffy will love that he does not have to sport a leash, and you will feel proud that your money goes to support a wonderful cause to benefit Border Collies rescue and rehabilitation.
If you plan to attend, there are a couple of rules to know before you go: Your dog needs to be well socialized and not aggressive to attend. This does not apply to Scruffy, but female dogs in heat are also not allowed (for a good reason). Male dogs are welcome anytime. You also should be aware that lodging accommodations are for a maximum of three dogs.
So if you are anywhere near the North East during the summer, you should book a stay for Scruffy at the Glen Highland Farm. This is a dog adventure and freeing experience that you and your special canine will never forget.
