Lining the entirety of the dog park is a fence. This fence appears to be wood with large gaps that a canine could fit through. Upon closer inspection has chicken wire attached to prevent any canines from traveling through the fence. The lack of trees or other vegetation means your canine can run quite a ways off and remain in sight and under voice control.
Adorned near the entrance to the park is a pavilion covering a large picnic table with a great deal of seating. The building provides plenty of shade and partial shelter against the elements. Around the shelter, the ground is mulched, and there is a sidewalk pathway from the entrance to the pavilion.
There are no restrooms for you to use while you are here and there is no running water, so be sure to bring your own for you and your canine. Doggie bags are available, and trash cans are placed in high traffic areas for you to clean up after your canine. It is essential that you always pick up after your dog.
The park stays well maintained, the grass stays green through the spring and summer months. The grass stays short but covers the entire field, dirt and mud should be minimal. Apart from the pavilion, only one shade providing tree lies inside the park. Some trees line the outside of the park that offers a little shade during certain times of day, but for the most part, the pavilion is all the shade you are going to find.
Overall this is a fantastic park in Sherwood with plenty of room for you to play long range games like fetch and frisbee. You must provide proof of vaccination, and this park requires a permit, more information can be found on their website.
