This fenced dog park in Martinsville is located next to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) adoption center. Although there are no separate areas for large and small dogs at Henry County SPCA Dog Park, there is an agility course which canines of all sizes will love. Bring your fully-vaccinated and well-mannered pooch to the property and enjoy plenty of time along the walking trail.Â
Spike can jump, run around and play with other four-legged friends in the agility course. Pet parents that only dogs updated on their vaccinations are allowed. Aside from the Henry County SPCA Dog Park, there are also other services available such as spay or neuter services for $55 for residents and $65 for non-residents. The weekly spay or neuter services can be paid in advance by check or cash.Â
Pet parents also have the option to get their furbabies microchipped for $10. There is also a wellness clinic for pets, grooming services such as bathing starting at $15 and nail trim at $10. However, full-service grooming is not available, but the staff will be more than happy to recommend groomers to pet parents. There is a nominal annual fee of $15 to use the park and be a member of the SPCA.Â
All proceeds go toward the upkeep of the Henry County SPCA Dog Park. SPCA has various events all throughout the year so check their calendar for updated information. The shelter sells harnesses, leashes, collars, crates, toys, treats, hygiene products, and other delightful things for pets.Â
Pet parents can also venture to the adoption center if they think they want to add more furbabies to their family. The goal of SPCA is to find forever homes for all animals under their care. The process of adoption is straightforward. Just fill up the application form, and one of the adoption counselors will review your application and decide if the criteria have been met.
