Parking and the main park entrance can normally be found on the westernmost side of the park on Randolph Avenue, but High Bridge was under construction, so you may be rerouted to alternative parking on Spring Street, with access to the park from Washington Street and Shepard Road. The 9 mile Samuel Morgan Trail also passes by the park, along Shepard Road.
High Bridge Dog Park has two separate fenced-off areas, one for small breeds and another for the big guys. This provides pups of all shapes and sizes a safe place to play. The surface in the large dog area is mostly made up of wood mulch, and some natural areas with grass and brush. Your pal will love scampering through the brush like a wild dog! The small dog area features more grassy area and newly planted shade trees. Some sections of the park can get muddy, so you may want to bring a towel if there's been a recent rainfall.
The park doesn't have any running water, so be sure to bring your own. There are often metal water bowls left by visitors, so feel free to leave jugs of water. In the large dog area, there is a mailbox with information and doggy waste bags, but be sure to bring some just in case, and always stoop and scoop. Also be sure your pup is current on vaccinations and city dog license. A porta-potty can be found at the large dog area entrance. Don't forget your pal's favorite ball for some fetch, as this stretch of land is pawfect for it!
The High Bridge Dog Park is a woofderful place to spend some quality time with your best pal right in the heart of St. Paul!
