Hunter’s Point South Park is a beautiful park located right on the East River! This 11-acre park opened in 2013, and it’s filled with amenities and attractions for dogs and their parents.
If you’d like to let your pup play off-leash, head over to the Hunter’s Point South Park Dog Run. This dog run features separate enclosures for large and small dogs, and it has a concrete ground, chrome benches, and a fun dome and wood logs that dogs can climb on. On hot days, the park also has a doggy pool your pup can splash around in. Doggy bags and drinking water are both available in this pawesome dog run.
After your pup is finished playing in the dog run, put their leash back on and explore the rest of Hunter’s Point South Park. The park is home to a wide variety of attractions for visitors, including a playground, a handball court, a basketball court, and four fishing piers. You and your pup can also go for a leisurely stroll on the park’s paved promenade. This promenade is located right next to the East River, and it offers stunning views of Midtown Manhattan. As you walk along the pathway, you’ll pass a permanent art installation, “Luminescence.” This installation features seven sculptures that represent the phases of the moon.
If you’d like to relax after your walk, you can lounge on the park’s riverside lawn. If you get hungry, the park is home to an outdoor café, Coffeed at LIC Landing. This cute little café allows dogs, and it offers a wide variety of coffee drinks, burgers, sandwiches, salads, ice cream, and more.
Hunter’s Point South Park is a furrific place to spend the day with your pup! Remember to clean up after your dog while you’re in the park, and enjoy spending time with your furry best friend in this fun-filled Queens park.
If Fido needs to learn some dog park petiquette, consider booking an in-home dog training session with Wag! before you visit.
