Description

The I-95 Dog Park is located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Situated atop the busy interstate highway of the same name, I-95 Dog Park provides a conduit for the Queen Village, Society Hall, and Olde City Philadelphia regions to connect with Penn's Landing and the Delaware River. Very little is known about this dedicated dog playground. The park itself is comprised of six acres of property, providing ample room for dogs to explore.

It is unknown if any fenced enclosures are housed on the premises or if off-leash play is permitted. In keeping with Pennsylvania legislation, dogs who are not in designated off-leash zones must remain on a lead. The I-95 Dog Park is most likely a public facility. Entrance to the grounds is free of charge for all people and their pooches.

The property itself is beautifully landscaped with shrubs, greenery, and scenic pathways. Also housed on the property are a variety of sculptures and memorials commemorating Irish and Scottish immigrants who fled to Pennsylvania to escape the potato famine plaguing their homelands. There are also numerous memorials dedicated to those who fought for United States freedoms in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars.

Many people remark that a visit to this park reinforces their patriotism and is a very emotional experience. Since little is known about the dog park itself, owners should come prepared with all of the things needed for a great day at the park. Among the items owners should bring with them are bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags. The responsibility for all pet waste removal rests with each owner.

It is unknown if bathrooms are available for public use at this historic park space. Though there are no published rules regarding the use of I-95 Dog Park, it is always wise for all dogs to be current on their immunizations. A city dog license is mandatory in most states and is always an excellent idea as well. For those of you looking to enjoy a little history in a scenic park space, a trip to I-95 Dog Park could be just what the doctor ordered!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
