Let your four-legged best friend get some off-leash exercise at the Indian Rocks Beach Dog Park! Located inside the Indian Rocks Beach Nature Preserve, this fenced-in area is a puptastic spot for your pooch to meet other doggos and make new friends.
You'll find the dog park in the front portion of the preserve, adjacent to the parking lot just off of Gulf Boulevard. A good-sized grassy area with some benches and shade will greet you and Fido once you enter through the double gates. The amount of space should have your pup wagging their tail, especially if they have a lot of energy to run off. Note that there is no separate section for little pooches, so if you have a larger dog, keep an eye on them and see to it that they behave around the smaller canines.
Be sure to cover any holes your pup might dig and clean up any mess they might make right away—mutt mitts and trash receptacles are available on-site for your convenience. Drinking water is also provided to keep your pooch from getting too thirsty. It would be a good idea to bring towels as visitors say puddles form in the park when it rains.
Before you bring your pup to the dog park, remember to swing by the city hall first to get a permit; residents and visitors alike are required to obtain one. Unfurtunately, Fido is only allowed in the off-leash area and the front part of the preserve, so if you plan on taking a stroll on the boardwalk and exploring the rest of the site, have a family member watch your furry pal or come back on another day.
For woofderful leash-free fun in IRB, look no further than the Indian Rocks Beach Dog Park!
