For quite a while, this park was managed for fishing and hunting recreation until it further developed as a state park. Now, Jackson Lake State Park is referred to as the "oasis in the plains." At Jackson Lake State Park, you can go biking, boating, birding, camping, fishing, geocaching, picnicking, hiking, ice fishing, ice skating, jet skiing, OHV riding, sailboarding, swimming, water skiing, snowshoeing, and so much more. You will also find a visitor center, trails, a swimming beach, campgrounds, dump stations, sanitation stations, restrooms, picnic areas, a marina, boat ramps, and an amphitheater.
Dogs can also come to Jackson Lake State Park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay. During your time in this park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the state park. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home.
All dogs and their humans must be well-mannered before they come to Jackson Lake State Park as this park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in this park.
