Canines with a lot of energy may not enjoy this park as there is not a lot of space for them to run and get a lot of exercise in or wear themselves out. Instead, this park is best for socializing your canines and you should find a way to exercise them elsewhere.
The park stays clean and well maintained and the grass stays in good shape all year round. There is a lot of space outside the dog park, but your canine must remain on a leash to walk on the trails at this park. For smaller dogs, there is some agility equipment for them to use and that does well to wear them out.
Outside of the dog park area, there is a playground for young children and plenty of other activities. A walking path surrounds the park, and there are some tennis courts and sports fields nearby. Some trees that line this fenced dog park provide a decent amount of shade during most hours of the day.
Some of the upsides here are the amenities. There are public restrooms available here and open year round. There is also a supply of fresh water to the James Archer Smith Bark Park, remember to bring your bowl. The park has doggie bags and garbage cans located at the entrance to the fenced area.
Plenty of parking is available here, and it is free of charge. In the greater area of the park, there are pavilions covering picnic tables that lend good shade and a great place to have a picnic or eat at the park with family. The park services do not allow your canine inside any of the facilities or off-leash at any time outside of the fenced area.
