The Jamesville Beach Park is the pawfect destination for a fun day out with your little fur ball of energy! A favorite spot among locals, this extensive site features the Jamesville Reservoir and a variety of outdoor activities for two- and four-legged guests to enjoy!
The park is home to a pawpular swimming beach that draws numerous visitors during the summer months. Leave your swimwear at home if your pup is tagging along, though, as it is part of the pet-free zone. Furtunately, the majority of the park is Fido-friendly and there's a large, designated off-leash area just for furry visitors! When not in use for special events, the special event field serves as a dog park where the canine community can hang out. Note that this open space is not fenced in, so it's best suited for puppers who do well under voice control. If that doesn't sound like your dog, don't worry—you can take a leashed stroll on the trails instead!
A combination of grass and natural surfaces, the trails hug the shoreline of the reservoir and travel alongside Butternut Creek, in which Fido can take a dip and cool off. Remember to bring a towel so you don't go home with a soggy pooch. Other activities that you can do with your best friend include disc golf and picnicking. Keep in mind that doggos must be on a 6-foot leash when outside the off-leash area and cleaned up after throughout the park. Mutt mitts and trash receptacles are available on-site for your convenience.
The Jamesville Beach Park is free to use during non-beach season. Otherwise, there's a daily fee of $7 per car. Seniors get a discount from Monday to Thursday, while veterans and active military get in for free. Hours may vary on some weekends, so always check the website before going.
With a puptastic off-leash area, creek, and trails, the Jamesville Beach Park will surely get four paws up from Fido!
