John Williams Dog Park

Hollywood, Florida along the state’s southeastern coast features several exciting dog parks and beaches. Among them is John Williams Park, a beautiful and natural space blending seamlessly into the Sheridan Oak Forest. The 23-acre park offers recreational activities for both you and your dog to enjoy together. The primary area for dog play is fenced in, and dogs can go off-leash here to freely explore and enjoy playtime. 

Dogs are allowed on leash in the rest of the park, although 11 acres of the park is a dedicated nature preserve where you will want to be extra conscious of your dog’s behavior. There are walking trails and plenty of shaded benches, allowing you to relax while your dog runs free on the grass. Most notably, the park offers a live oak hammock that you can admire while visiting. 

The rain sometimes makes the terrain a bit muddy, but not to worry, there are wash stations available so that you can spray your dog down after a day of play. Restrooms and fresh water make this park an easy place to stay for the day. The John Williams Park is managed by the City of Hollywood, and the park is publicly available for all to enjoy. 

The John Williams Park itself offers public exercise stations and a play structure in case you bring your family along, and there is plenty of space to explore. Poop bags are provided by the park, and locals highly encourage each other to pick up after their dogs. 

Problems in the past with people leaving their dog’s poop behind have prompted dog lovers to take better care of the park, so remember to contribute to that cause. There are many places to take your dog in Hollywood, but John Williams Park offers a unique and natural experience while still offering the facilities and amenities that make visits to the dog park pleasant and easy.
