Keysville Dog Park

The Keysville Dog Park is the place to go for the ultimate dog park experience. The dog park is located in the 18-acre park that also features basketball, playgrounds, pavilions, picnic benches, and trails. The fenced-in dog park has all the amenities and activities you could want for your dog and is home to the annual Wags and Whiskers Pet Festival, where dogs can get low-cost vaccinations, pet licenses, and even a frisbee. 

On a typical day, your dog will find plenty to do at the park. There are two sections-one for small dogs (under 18" wide at the shoulders) and one for large dogs (over 18" wide at the shoulders). There is agility equipment including tunnels, ramps, and even a combination of the two. There are also strategically placed bright red fire hydrants in the park, which serve as a hub of canine communication for your dog. 

The park has small rolling hills and is mostly grass, with some areas having more dirt and sand than others. There are plenty of trees shade trees so your pup can stay cool in the summer. There is also water available for your pup to quench his thirst after running around. If you get tired while watching your pup play, you can sit down on one of the benches or at a picnic table and relax. 

Even though you might feel like a drink of water or a snack, neither are permitted inside the dog park. Smoking is not allowed either. Be sure no matter where you are sitting that you pick up after your pup. You can use bags that are provided or bring your own. 

In addition, make sure your dog is not in heat or aggressive. Your dog must be able to respond to your command and should be kept on-leash until your dog is inside the fenced-in dog park. When outside the doggie-designated area, his leash should be no more than ten feet.
