The Kiwanis Recreation Area Dog Park consists of two large fenced areas, one for dogs below 25 pounds and another for dogs that are heavier than 25 pounds. Easily reachable through Highway 169 and north of the Highway 14 intersection, the dog park is visible from the highway. The dog park has benches all throughout so there is always a place where pet parents can sit while supervising their furbabies.
Canines can go on the trails outside of the dog area but only if they are on a leash. Poop bags are provided in the park, so pet parents need not bother to bring full water bottles. With poop bags readily available, pet parents can quickly pick up after their dogs and help keep the place clean. There are various recreational pursuits in the vicinity such as hiking trails, wild and bird-life viewing, and picnic shelters where people can share a meal or two.
There are restrooms in the vicinity so if you need to go to the toilet; you can do so quickly. There is water supply, as well, so you and your pooch can stay hydrated while having a good time. Plenty of grass for running and rolling around and trees for shade so you will still have a good time even on a hot and sunny day. The easy access to the Minnesota River is a favorite of people who visit the park.
Your four-footed buddy has to have been vaccinated; be sociable; healthy; with tags on their collars; and under their owner’s control at all times if they are to enter and stay in the park. A pleasant place to take your dog to after work, your pooch will undoubtedly have a good time stretching his legs and meeting new furry friends, while you meet other people who also share the same interests.Â
