This dog-friendly camping site does not house any specific dog playground spaces nor does it offer any on-site amenities for owners travelling with dogs. However, dogs are welcome to join their owners on the property while on lead and under their owner's supervision and control. There is no off-leash activity permitted on the grounds of Lake Accotink Park.
Lake Accotink Park has many attractions for Fido and his family to enjoy. On the grounds is a 55 acre lake which is suitable for water sports and boating. There is also a four mile walking trail which leads through varied plant life. This is an ideal spot for birdwatchers and lovers of wildlife to take in some interesting and rare species.
Also available on the premises is a miniature golf course; bike, canoe, and paddle boat rentals (in season), tour boats, fishing, and sand volleyball. A carousel is provided for use by children; however, at this time, it is under construction. For families looking to enjoy a picnic lunch on the grounds, there is ample seating, and barbecues are also provided for public use.
Campsites are available, but it is not known if a fee or reservations are required as access to Lake Accotink Park is free of charge. Bathrooms are available on the property for public use. For families seeking to do something out of the ordinary with their favorite canine pal, Lake Accotink offers canine cruises, obedience classes, and on site birthday parties.
Since water and poop bags are not provided, owners must come prepared with bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags. To ensure Fido is in compliance with all state legislation, he should be current on his vaccinations and licensed with the city. For a day of relaxation and fun, bring Fido and the family to Lake Accotink Dog Park!
