Lake Pueblo State Park welcomes canine visitors to join their families at their lovely state park, but in accordance with Colorado state law, they must remain on a lead. There is currently not a play area reserved for dog use nor is there drinking water provided. Owners should pack a bag which contains all of the items necessary for a day at the park including bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags.
It is the expectation of park officials that all owners will display responsible pet ownership by cleaning up after their pets. Lake Pueblo State Park is a private campground and recreational center. Entrance to the grounds is permitted with the payment of the $7 daily fee per person. There are a number of different accommodations options available on the grounds.
Reservations are required, and there are associated costs for each rental unit. Among the outdoor activities available are sailing, motor-boating, waterskiing, tubing, fishing, hiking, biking, and picnicking. Housed on the grounds is the picturesque Arkansas River which offers scenic views of the beautiful Greenhorn and Wet mountain ranges.
There is also a canopy formed by 200-year-old Juniper trees which provide respite from the heat of the day. Bathrooms are available on the grounds for public use. There are also several marinas at Lake Pueblo State Park which offer full services as well as boat launch sites.
Lake Pueblo State Park strictly enforces all Colorado state law. With this in mind, dogs visiting this facility must be current on vaccinations. A city dog license is also required. For a great time at a beautiful Colorado park, bring Fido and the family for a day of fun at Lake Pueblo State Park!
