Lakewood Dog Park - Wauconda

The Lakewood Dog Park is a members-only dog park in Wauconda. All dog parks in this city require the same permit for access, and these permits can be acquired through the city. The membership fees for these dog parks range from relatively reasonable for Lake County residents to exorbitant costs for non-residents.

An annual permit for a single dog is $50 for residents, while non-residents are three times that cost. A single day use pass is $20. That being said, the dog parks here, especially the Lakewood Dog Park, are head and shoulders above your average dog park.

There is a ton of space at the Lakewood Dog Park at Wauconda. The most energetic canines could run a huge distance and wear themselves out. This dog park is such that no matter how far they run, they will stay in sight and under voice control at all times. 

Several trees are placed around this park, these trees are of medium size and produce some shade for the few benches that are placed directly below them. Seating is a bit limited at this park as there are only a few benches and picnic tables at the entrance to the dog park. 

Directly inside the fenced area is mostly dirt, but as you move further into the dog area that turns into grass. That grass at the Lakewood Dog Park in Wauconda stays in good shape and is cut relatively often. The grounds here are clean, and it is clear that it is well maintained. 

The greater area of the park hosts tons of walking paths and trails with beautiful vegetation overhead to produce plenty of shade for those whole wish to hike the trails. Anytime your canine is outside the fenced section of the park you are required to keep your canine on-leash. 

Due to the high costs for non-residents to join the Lakewood Dog Park at Wauconda, it is best for the nearby residents who are looking for a dog park. Non-residents could find a cheaper and equally accommodating dog park at another location.
