Exercise is important for your pooch. Before they start bouncing off the walls, take them to the Leesburg Dog Park to blow off steam. This canine hangout is a furrific spot for off-leash exercise as well as making doggy friends!
Located inside the 21-acre Olde Izaak Walton Park just off of Route 15, the Leesburg Dog Park spans nearly 1-acre and is divided into 2 sections. One is for smaller pups weighing 25 pounds or less, while the other is for the big boys and girls. Both sections are secured by gates and fencing, giving the dogs a safe environment to run and play without restraints. The ground is natural dirt and wood chips, so you don’t have to worry about your pooch getting too dirty. But in case they do, there’s a water pump with a hose that lets you give Fido a rinse before heading home.
Other amenities include water bowls, waste bag dispensers, trash bins, picnic tables, and benches. There are also restrooms for the humans and plenty of parking. While there is no agility equipment, some dogs make do with the picnic tables and jump on those instead. Despite being a pretty basic park, the Leesburg Dog Park gets a good amount of two- and four-legged visitors. Pet parents like that it is well-maintained and has lots of shade.Â
If your pooch still has energy to burn after playing at the dog park, you can take them for a leashed stroll around the main park. Olde Izaak Walton Park offers walking trails, grassy areas, and a pond for you and Fido to explore. Wherever you go, always clean up after your pup and be mindful of others. In addition, make sure your dog has their license tag on before you visit.
Your canine companion will surely have a tail-waggin’ good time at the Leesburg Dog Park!
