Although many dog parks do provide an enclosed space specifically for use by small, timid, or elderly dogs, Loring Park Dog Grounds currently does not have one. However, all dogs are welcome to enjoy this on-premise run in downtown Minneapolis. Leash laws do apply to dogs who are not housed in off-leash designated zones. To this end, all owners must carry a lead with them at all times.
Loring Park Dog Grounds is a private dog play center. To access the facilities, owners must obtain a park membership. Annual memberships are available at a cost of $35 for the first dog and $25 for each subsequent for those residing in the Minneapolis region. Non-residents can acquire a yearly membership for $60 for their first dog and $35 each additional one.
Those wishing to visit the park on a more sporadic basis can purchase a day pass for $5 per visit per dog. Loring Park Dog Grounds requires all owners submitting applications for park membership to also apply for the following items: an Off Leash Permit and a Minneapolis Pet License. This lovely park space which is renowned for its cleanliness and well-manicured grounds offers fresh drinking water in its run to help keep Fido and his friends well-hydrated. Bathrooms are not housed on the property. It is unknown if complimentary poop bags are provided. With this in mind, owners should come prepared with some extra bags from home. The onus for all pet waste removal lies with each owner.
