St. Anthony Parkway Dog Park is a public, paid dog park located at the Columbia Park in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition to the dog park, the 180-acre Columbia park is home a cross-country ski trail, a driving range, a golf course, a horseshoe pit, a rugby field, a soccer field and tennis courts.
It also features an archery range, public restrooms, playgrounds, picnic areas and plenty of walking paths that leashed dogs are welcome on. Its terrain consists of rolling hills and open spaces filled with lush greenery. The St. Anthony Parkway Dog Park can be found west of the golf learning center, by the driving range.
It is securely fenced and over two acres in size, it provides plenty of room for dogs to roam and explore with their canine friends in a safe environment. The park’s layout is made up of a single long and narrow open space area that dogs can play and run around in without a leash.
The park's surface consists of wood chips, mulch, and some grassy areas so make sure to pack a towel for your dog’s paws if you happen to visit on a rainy day. The dog park is lined with mature trees that provide a lot of shade for dogs to cool off in.
Since there are no canine drinking fountains at the dog park, owners have to make sure to bring their own to keep their canine companions hydrated and happy. The dog park is equipped with several benches and picnic tables and well-placed trash cans that help encourage dog owners to clean up after their pooches.
It is the perfect dog park for dogs who love to run, chase and play games of fetch. Plus it is conveniently located and easily accessible since there is a parking lot across the street from the dog park. Please note that there are train tracks nearby so sometimes the park can get quite loud.
The annual fees are $35 for the first dog and $25 for each additional one for Minneapolis residents and $60 for the first dog, $35 for each additional dog for non-residents. If you want to check out the park before committing you can get a $5 daily pass. The access permits are valid at all seven city dog parks in Minneapolis.
