Lory State Park

Lory State Park sits in the beautiful area of Colorado, and it is the perfect place for all types of visitors to come on any weekend for some fun and relaxation. This state park went through many different historical phases, eventually becoming a state park in the year 1975. This park was named after an early settler and the president of CSU at the time, Dr. Charles A. Lory. 

When you come and visit this fabulous state park, you will find many different types of amenities that are available for your enjoyment. This park has campgrounds, conference rooms, picnic tables, picnic shelters, many different trails, a visitor center, and wedding facilities. 

There are also available opportunities for backcountry camping, hiking, biking, boating, fishing, geocaching, picnicking, horseback riding, hunting, rock climbing, and so much more. Dogs can also come and visit this park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay. 

During your time in Lory State Park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife System. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. 

Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to this park as Lory State Park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in this park. 

If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation. Reservations can be made on the Lory State Park's main website or in the park's main office. Lory State Park is a beautiful region that should be visited by many. If you come to this park, you will have a marvelous time.
