Got a wiggly pup on your hands? Head on over to the Luuwit View Park in Portland that features a furbulous dog park! Situated on a hill with fur-mazing views of the Columbia River and the Cascades Mountain range, including Mount Saint Helens, the Luuwit View Dog Park is the place to be for social pups! 

The dog park is roughly kidney-shaped, with a combination of grass and dirt/gravel surface that your pup will love to explore once they've passed through the double-gated entry. It’s within walking distance from many nearby homes, but dog parents from further away will find free parking nearby inside the main park. If your small, shy, or senior dog feels comfortable around larger, active pups, this open, single yard will be pawsome for them, too! 

There isn’t much shade in the fully fenced in off-leash area, so hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are good to bring during visits in the daylight hours, as well as sunscreen for your pup. Though there are fountains near the children's play area, the spigot near the dog park doesn't always work, so it's best to tote water with you to share with your thirsty pup. Human restrooms are nearby, but be sure to bring clean-up bags for your dog to make it easy to stoop and scoop!

The dog park can be busy during the week, but its most pupular time is on the weekends when dog parents bring their families to Luuwit to play and relax. While the kids make use of the skateboard park, climbing wall and playground, dog parents can take their furry kids to play with the other neighborhood pooches. Luuwit View Park is dog-friendly, so dogs and their parents can also take advantage of the paved pathways and picnic areas outside the fenced section while on-leash. Wherever you travel in this pawrific park, be sure your pup displays current license and rabies vaccination tags.
