Although this dog park is free and open to all, car owners need to pay a $5 parking fee to avoid getting a ticket.Â

It is ten acres in size and has an open space layout that consists of a single area for dogs of all breeds and sizes to run, play and socialize together. It offers more than enough space for dogs to not only stretch their legs but also to get a great amount of leashless exercise, exploration, and sniffing.Â
This dog park is securely fenced which means owners won't have to worry about their pooches running away or getting into trouble. It especially convenient since the park is so large it is easy for owners to lose track of their dogs. Thankfully recent renovations to the off-leash area remedied that issue. There are now mowed paths that loop around the perimeter of the dog park that allow dog owners to keep their canines in sight during playtime.Â
The Lyons Dog Park MM Rest Stop Dog Area’s terrain is made up of maintained grassy areas perfect for running and ungroomed tall grass sections perfect for sniffing and exploring. Please note that due to the tall grass, rattlesnakes might be encountered so make sure to supervise your pooch and make sure he's under strict voice control.Â
The dog park is equipped with picnic benches, one of which is sheltered and keeps owners comfortable during sunny or rainy weather. There are human and canine drinking fountains that make sure the park's patrons remain hydrated throughout their time at the park. In addition to all of the above, there are public restrooms nearby which is convenient for owners who might end up spending more than a few hours at this great, green dog park.Â
