Manion Park

Centrally located, yet never crowded, Manion Park is a great place to spend a beautiful day with the entire family, including four-legged members! Spanning 27 acres, this quiet site contains a 1-mile walking trail and lots of grassy areas, making it pawfect for getting some exercise with your pup without too many distractions.

As you and Fido explore Manion Park, you'll find yourselves strolling past its various amenities, which include a community center, a children's playground, four lighted tennis courts, and a full outdoor basketball court. A splash pad for cooling off on hot days is available as well. Head to the southwest corner of the park to walk alongside Joe Creek, which can be crossed via a short, narrow bridge. If walking around the site with your pooch is not enough of a workout for you, hit the fitness station, where you'll find a variety of exercise equipment; let your pup relax while you squeeze in some chest and arm workouts on the machines.

If you and your canine companion need to sit down and take a break, benches are scattered around the park. There are also picnic shelters that you can duck under, so don't forget to bring some snacks and Fido's favorite treats! Several shady spots on the grass allow for a pleasant picnic as well.

With all the open space in Manion, it might be tempting to let your dog romp unfettered, but keep in mind that all furry visitors at city parks must stay leashed. Be sure to clean up after your pooch, too, if they go to the bathroom. While Manion Park is a pup-friendly spot, doggie waste bags are not provided, so remember to bring your own. Have water on hand too!
