Mason District Dog Park

In Annandale, Virginia, you can find a great treat for your doggo. The Mason District Dog Park is located on the south end of Mason District Park, just a few minutes east of the downtown area of Annandale. While dogs are allowed throughout all of Mason District Park, the dog park allows puppers a safe place to romp around, meet some friends, and get in some sniffing, all uninhibited by a leash. 

There is only one fenced-off area and no separate section for small dogs, so keep this in mind if your pupper is small and timid, or doesn't play well with others. Otherwise, the area is quite large, allowing pups to play in their own section or even run at full tilt. Don't forget to bring your dog's favorite ball or frisbee! The park is fairly popular, so your dog is almost always guaranteed some puppy play mates. You're sure to have a tuckered out pup at the end of the day. 

Note that there is minimal shade and no running water available, so bring plenty of water to keep you and your doggo hydrated. Some other amenities include doggy waste bags, trash receptacles, benches, and tables. The surface is made up of crushed gravel that is gentle on the paws and allows your pooch to stay clean. 

If you and your doggo would like to continue the adventure, you're welcome to explore the rest of the trails and wooded areas in Mason District Park. You can follow the trails north to the more developed section of the park, which features an amphitheater, athletic fields, playgrounds, restrooms, and a scenic pond. Please keep your pupper leashed whenever they're not within the fenced-off dog park, and picked up after at all times.
