McGolrick Dog Park

McGolrick Dog Park is located inside McGolrisk Park in Brooklyn. This designated dog run is fully fenced and suitable for off-leash dog play. According to New York City by-laws, dogs may only be off lead when in areas that are designated off-leash zones; in all other areas of the park, dogs are to remain on lead. In addition to this, owners are required to carry a lead with them at all times in case of an emergency.

The family-centric McGolrick Park occupies residence on the same property. This historic park is centrally located with nearby access to a farmers' market and idyllic walking paths that are ideal for both leisurely strolls and more competitive running. Also on the grounds is the New York City landmark pavilion renowned for its stunning masonry. Visitors to this pristine park space also flock to view the War Memorial as well as the Monitor and Merrimac Monument. This park is also hallmarked by vast grassy spaces where on-leash dogs can enjoy a walk with their families. 

Visitors to this park space report a large number of benches which provide comfortable seating for owners to make use of while observing their dogs at play. Bathrooms are not available on-site for public use. Unfortunately, water is not provided on the premises. For this reason, owners should bring a bottle of water and a suitable drinking vessel to ensure that Fido's hydration needs are met. It is unknown if poop bags are provided on the premises. However, New York City by-laws mandate the carrying of bags to assist owners with picking up and properly disposing of all canine waste in a prompt fashion.

New York City dog legislation is extremely strict. A current rabies vaccination is mandatory as is the required city dog license. It is mandatory for all owners to carry proof of inoculation and an up to date dog license with them when out in public. Failure to produce said documentation upon request results in a fine.
