If your dog is bursting with energy, it must be time for a trip to the dog park! Grab the leash and head over to Newton Centre Playground Off Leash Area and let them run wild. Located inside Newton Centre Playground, this doggy play zone is the pawfect spot to let your pupster have some fun.
You’ll find the off leash area in the western part of the
park. There’s plenty of room for your pal to jet around on their own. Or they
can play chase with a new furry playmate. Bring a ball for a game of fetch or just let
them sniff around to their heart’s content. Always have a clean up bag or two
on hand and ready to go. And don’t forget to bring some water and a bowl. After
all that running around, your pooch will be thirsty!
There
are a couple things to remember when using the park. First, it’s only open from
sunrise to noon, so its best for morning pups. Also, only 20 dogs are allowed in the park at one time.
Like the other off leash areas in Newton, this park requires canine guests to
wear an off leash medallion. In order to obtain the medallion, bring proof of
your dog’s license and rabies vaccination to the Newton City Hall Clerks Office
and purchase a permit. The annual cost is $50.00 per dog for residents, and
$100.00 per dog for non-residents.
Once your pup is finished playing, clip on their leash and check out the main area of Newton Centre Playground. Not only does this pawsome park have tennis courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and basketball courts, it also has large patches of grass and walking paths. Make no mistake, your pup will love this furrific park!
