Description
Newton Centre Playground Off-Leash Area sits on the same 17.9-acre property as the family-centric Newton Centre Playground in Newton, Massachusetts. This beautiful public park has much to offer Fido and his family and has become a popular destination for families to enjoy. Housed on the premises is an area reserved for off-leash play and appropriate socialization.

It is not known if this dog play section is fenced though it is likely. Also not known is whether or not there is a separate area reserved for use by dogs who are small, elderly, or timid. Bathrooms are available for public use on the grounds, and here, owners can obtain drinking water to meet their dogs' needs.

To ensure access to a poop bag when needed, owners should bring some from home with them. All pet waste removal must be performed by each owner. Newton Centre Playground Off-Leash Area is a private section within a public park. An off-leash park permit is required to enter the property.

It is unknown if a corresponding fee is required to obtain a permit. At the time of application, owners must submit proof of a current rabies vaccination as well as evidence of an up to date city dog license. Park officials require all dogs to bear tags as proof of both on their collars at all times.

Once a permit has been issued, each owner will receive a medallion which must also be worn on their dog's collar when using the off-leash area. Professional dog walkers must also apply for a permit and are restricted to no more than three dogs in the run per handler. They receive a different medallion which must also be prominently displayed.

Among the other recreational opportunities at Newton Centre Playground Off Leash Area are the following: a playground, the Jeannie West Recreation Centre, clay tennis courts, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and basketball courts. Looking for a great new Massachusetts off-leash park for Fido to explore?
