It’s not uncommon for dogs in Seattle to have to wait out a rain storm. You may catch your pooch gazing out the window and wishing the drizzle would just go away. Well, when the rain finally does stop falling, reward your pup’s patience with a trip to Northacres Dog Park.  Â
This furrific off-leash area is located in the northeast
corner of Northacres Park and is one of the prettiest dog parks you’ll come
across.  It’s 1.6 acres and is full of
big trees for your doggo to sniff. Your pal will absolutely be in heaven as
they weave in around the wooded area looking for the perfect stick, tracking
down critters, and climbing over logs. Because it's wet much of the year, the ground
is covered in wood chips, which helps your buddy from getting too muddy and
provides traction. It’s still a good idea to bring a towel along to clean off
dirty paws.
Northacres Dog Park is quite wooded, so it's not an
ideal place to go if your dog is itching to play Frisbee. But, there’s still
plenty of opportunity for them to dart and dash around. Plus, it’s the pawfect
spot for some canine socialization. Since it’s a pupular hang out for hounds,
your furry pal will always have a friend to romp around with. At this park, dogs
of all shapes and sizes play together since there is no designated small dog
area.
Northacres packs a lot into a relatively small area.
There are a number of benches and chairs for pet parents. You’ll also find a water
fountain for thirsty pups, and plenty of poop bags and trash cans. Be sure to
pick up after pooch so the only smell in the park is the forest fragrance. Make
no mistake; your doggo will go mutts over this park!
