There is a wonderful dog park in Umatilla, Florida called the North Lake Community Dog Park. This dog park is in Umatilla's North Lake Regional Park which has two parking lots. Both lots are just a short walk from the off-leash area. Dogs need to be kept on a leash while walking through the main park and well under control when passing by the basketball courts.
Bouncing balls and running players are a major enticement for a dog to set chase and that is best avoided. The North Lake Community Dog Park has a paved entrance which is staged so owners can unleash their pooches safely. Follow the standard dog park entrance rules. Close the gate before letting a dog off and do not go in the off-leash area with a dog still leashed.
There is only one off-leash enclosure, so dogs of all sizes and shapes need to socialize together. That is never a problem so long as all owners are vigilant and keep an eye on what their pup is up to. All owners are responsible for their dogs or any damage they might cause. Being attentive saves a lot of problems in the long run especially in mixed size dog parks. Although it is shared, this park is around three acres in total, so there's plenty of room for all.
It is easier for owners if their dog is responsive to a few voice commands and come when they're called. If not, they'll be doing a lot of chasing after their pup. The one thing owners do need to pursue is pet poop. It doesn't pick itself up or jump into the trash on its own. Carry plenty of bags as it's a long hike back to the dispensers if a pup poops in the middle of the field.
