Palmer Park

If you and your pup are needing an outdoor break in your busy schedule, you should head to Palmer Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for a little bit of fresh air and relaxation. The outing will do you both a world of good!

Located in the Fishtown neighborhood since the early 1900’s, this pawtastically petite park is easy to find. Grab a parking spot on any of the adjacent streets and all you will need is your furry friend’s leash to begin your fun.

Although this park is only just under one acre in size, it is a beautiful spot inside the metropolis to visit. Being one of the few green spaces in the neighborhood, residents and visitors head here when they want to surround themselves with a bit of nature.  You can take Fido on a lovely stroll on one of the 4 paved paths which meander through the park, all meeting in the middle in a courtyard-like area. This central location is filled with benches where the views of the cityscape are prominent. Sitting under the shade of the mature trees during any season, with your furry friend by your side, makes for a relaxing day, with a lot of green grass for them to roll around in. 

The area’s farmer’s market is held here from June to November every year. Why not pick up some lovely produce for your table while you are visiting! A leash is mandatory, and cleaning up after them will ensure this park remains puptastic, so be sure to bring bags. There are no restrooms in the park, so plan accordingly, and if you decide to stay awhile, be sure to bring some water for you both to share.
