Description

Casselberry, Florida is a suburb of Orlando. It's a very nice area, the kind of place that is close to Disneyworld, Universal Studios, and all of the other attractions central Florida has to offer, without the sky-high costs associated with hotels and restaurants in the immediate area.

But more than just a place to save a little money while on vacation, Casselberry is a real town, with its own attractions, such as a sanctuary for prey birds, art galleries, and parks. Lots and lots of parks. In fact, Casselberry, a town of 25,000 people, has nearly 20 parks.

One of the nicest parks in Casselberry is Plumosa Oaks Park, a five-acre park with a basketball court, a grass volleyball play area, an exercise trail, and something that is called a treehouse playground, which sounds like the best piece of playground equipment ever created. Plumosa Oaks is the second newest park in Casselberry. Casselberry's newest park is actually a dog park.

Pawmosa Dog Park is located next door to Plumosa Oak Park. And like its sister, Pawmosa is both beautiful AND well-designed. The park has three fenced sections, a large main section, a section for smaller dogs, and a small, "time out" area, where a dog who has become over-stimulated can calm down before returning for more play time.

Each section of the dog park, even the time out area, has poop bags and water. The main section and the small dog section has benches. The “time out” area has a bench just outside the fence so you can keep an eye on your hyper puppy. The dog park is covered in cedar chips, which helps control odors and mud. In addition, the park was built under a canopy of mature trees, so it's quite shady, which is a blessing in the summer in Florida.

The main section of Pawmosa Dog Park at Plumosa Oaks Park also has a paved path circling the area to make it easier to keep an eye on your fuzzy face during play time. Pawmosa was designed by dog lovers in the neighborhood for other dog lovers, and it really shows. It's a great place to spend a couple of hours with your dog.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
