The forward-thinking park management team included an enclosure specifically designed to meet the needs of dogs who are small, elderly, or shy. While Paws Place prides itself on being a park with a vision for off-leash time, owners should carry a lead with them at all times as a precautionary measure.Â
Paws Place at Ward Acres Dog Park is a private dog playground, open only to residents of New Rochelle. Entrance to the property requires a Ward Acres Dog Permit. To obtain a Ward Acres Dog Permit, owners must finish proof of residency, a current dog license, vaccinations records showing up to date inoculations, and the required fee.Â
Once membership is approved, park officials will issue a photo ID pass which is required to be carried by the owner when visiting the dog park. The yearly fee to procure a permit is $50 for established residents and $100 for those new to the area. The Ward Acres Dog Permit allows access to the grounds for up to four dogs, which expires at the end of each year.
Situated within the runs to keep Fido comfortable is a plentiful supply of drinking water. Poop bags are also provided on the grounds, and park officials extend warm thanks to all owners for assisting with keeping the play areas clean by picking up after their pets in a prompt manner.
Benches are liberally sprinkled throughout the runs where owners can unwind and enjoy watching their dogs have fun with their favorite canine pals. Paws Place is also a well-shaded facility, ensuring owners are able to find relief from the heat of the day.Â
Paws Place at Ward Acres Dog Park does have a few rules for dogs and their owners visiting this dog play haven. Picnics are not permitted on the grounds at any time. Additionally, identification tags which clearly denote the name of your dog and also list your name and contact information must be clearly displayed on your dog's collar. Ready for a day of fun? Bring Fido for a run at Paws Place!Â
