Description

The Pembroke Pines Bark Park is a specified area of the John S. Fahey Park in Pembroke Pines, Florida, where dogs are permitted to be exercised off-leash. This dog park in Pembroke Pines has a good-sized parking lot which usually has plenty of vacant spaces even during peak hours and at weekends. This bark park in Pembroke Pines is great for exercising and socializing any size of dog.

There is an independent section for bigger breeds and an area for pups which are less than thirty pounds in weight. Both sides of the dog park have a well-maintained covering of natural grass and have been surrounded with secure fencing to prevent any escapees. The staging area is double gated so all dogs can be safely unleashed or leashed when entering and leaving the dog park. Dogs have been well provided for at this dog park in Pembroke Pines.

There is some agility equipment if owners are interested in training their dogs to use it, fire hydrants for communal scent marking, and lots of dog-friendly fountains for them to drink from when they have worked up a thirst. It is not allowed for owners to take splash pools inside the off-leash area even in hot weather. Some say this rule is a pity as there are not many shady spots where dogs can get out of the sun.

Amenities at the Pembroke Pines Bark Park at the John S. Fahey Park for owners are a bit on the sparse side. There are just a couple of benches and gazebos covered with palm fronds for them to sit on. Not that sitting is recommended as this is a large off-leash area and owners need to keep up with their dogs while they are running around.

On the plus side, there is a nice paved pathway which runs around the dog park perimeter and plenty of handy poop bag dispensers. The poop bag dispensers are a great reminder that owners need to pick up their pooches poop and as the dispensers are so conveniently located, that doesn't equate to being a major task in the Pembroke Pines Bark Park at the John S. Fahey Park.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
